WHATS INVOLVED?
The course is divided into three parts:
- Knowledge development- completed through e-learning
- A session in the swimming pool where you will learn and practice the basic scuba skills and familiarize yourself with the equipment.
- As the final part of your training you will complete 4 ocean dives at our local dive sites.
HOW MUCH AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?
The course price is $425 and includes:
- 3 days tuition including pool and certification fees
- PADI e-learning access pass and enhancement pack
- Your PADI certification.
EQUIPMENT
The majority of the larger pieces of equipment are provided in the course cost. However, safety is of paramount importance to us and there are a few pieces of personal equipment that we require you to provide to become an Open Water Diver.
Personal equipment: Mask, snorkel, boots & fins - required by DCB on all courses for hygiene and comfort. If you do not have your own, our staff will help you select some, off which you will receive a student discount. If you do not wish to purchase you could rent these items from us- this will be $50 for the duration of the course.
HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHEN DO I START?
In order for you to learn as much as possible and get the greatest benefit from your training, you are required to complete the theory section of the PADI Open Water course prior to commencing the in-water training.
On booking, you will be emailed an eLearning Access Pass which is a personal log-in to the PADI eLearning website. All 6 theory sections and final exam must be completed online before course commencement. During the course we will complete a quick theoretical quiz to confirm you understand the theory section.
PADI Open Water Diver Course is a 3 day course and can be completed on a full time or part time basis. The full time course starts every Monday and runs through to Wednesday or you could do the part time course which runs every Sunday and continues the following weekend.
