Enriched Air Nitrox Course

WHAT HAPPENS?
Diving with Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) allows you to extend your bottom times and shorten your surface intervals. Enriched Air is a breathing gas with an oxygen content of between 21% and 40%, consequently you are breathing less nitrogen so can dive for longer as your body is taking on less nitrogen.

WHATS INVOLVED?

  • PADI – Learning online theory
  • Learning how to analyse and label Enriched Air cylinders.
  • Learn how to plan and conduct Enriched Air dives.
  • 2 Boat dives using Enriched Air.

HOW MUCH AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?
The course price is $375 and includes:

  • tuition and certification fee
  • PADI Enriched Air training pack and E-learning
  • 2 dives
  • Your PADI certification
  • Personal attention - only 4 students per Instructor

HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHEN DO I START?
The Enriched Air Nitrox course E - learning can be complete at home and takes aproxemetly 4 - 6 hours. The practical is a full day (usually a Saturday) at the Dive Centre where you will analyse and label your own Enriched Air tanks for the 2 dives. You will be at the Dive Centre from 9am until around 5pm. Please see the calendar for starting dates.

WHERE DO WE GO?
The dive sites that we use are dependent on weather and sea conditions although we generally use dive sites like Magic Point, colours reef, royald sheepard . All the dives are Boat dives and a description of each site can be found at our diving in Sydney page.

EQUIPMENT
The majority of the pieces of equipment are provided in the course cost. However, safety is of paramount importance to us and there are a few pieces of personal safety equipment that we require you to provide to become an Enriched Air Diver:

  • Personal equipment: Mask, snorkel, boots & fins - required by DCB on all courses for hygiene and comfort. If you do not have your own, our staff will help you select some, off which you will receive a student discount. If you do not wish to purchase you can rent these items from us at a cost of $50 for the duration of the course.
  • Dive log book
  • Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) - safety equipment required on boat dives with DCB

There are some other items that are not hirable but are highly recommended to enhance your enjoyment, safety and learning experience...

  • Dive knife
  • Reel
  • Torch
  • Underwater slate and pencil

PREREQUISITES
You must hold an Advanced Open Water certification.

To book a place on the Enriched Air course just contact us and let us know when you want to start. Payment is on booking to secure your place, once that is received you can pick up your training pack or we can send it out to you.
