Emergency First Response Course

WHAT HAPPENS?
The Emergency First Response program teaches you how to deal with emergencies that is immediately life threatening. It is designed to train both divers and non-divers how to competently provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and primary care in any accident or emergency situation. You will also learn basic first aid skills (secondary care).

WHATS INVOLVED?
EFR qualifies you to provide both primary (life threatening) and secondary care (injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening). The learning process is a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure you have the knowledge, understanding and confidence to use your skills.

  • Scene assessment
  • CPR and rescue breathing
  • Barrier use
  • Serious bleeding management
  • Shock management
  • Spinal injury management
  • Injury and illness assessment
  • Bandaging and splinting broken bones

HOW MUCH AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?
The course price is $299 or $100 if combined with the Rescue Course and includes:

  • 1 days tuition
  • EFR training materials for you to keep and use after the course
  • EFR Certification

HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHEN DO I START?
EFR is run at the dive centre on a Saturday- 9am-4pm. Please see the calendar for starting dates.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
To book a place on the EFR course just contact us and let us which date you want to start or follow our online booking process. Payment is on booking to secure your place, once that is received you can pick up your EFR training pack or we can send it out to you.
