WHAT HAPPENS?
As an Instructor Development Course (IDC) Staff Instructor, you help bring up the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in-depth instructor-trainer knowledge. Staff Instructors can independently train and certify PADI Assistant Instructors as well as help train PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.

The major purpose of the course involves learning and polishing one's instructional technique. However, the extensive curriculum is extremely varied, consisting of lectures, workshops and candidate teaching presentations in the classroom, pool and open water.

Following the course you will be qualified to:

  • Independently teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors
  • Help PADI Course Directors conduct the PADI Instructor Development Course
  • Help PADI Course Directors conduct instructor -level continuing education
  • Evaluate, critique and counsel IDC candidates

The course price is $650

WHAT DO I NEED TO START?

  • PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer certification
  • 18 years old

HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHEN DO I START?
The IDC Staff Instructor course is an 2 day course plus the IDC course audit and starts on a Wednesday morning prior to the IDC. The course is full time and will finish on the following Friday.
