PADI Dry Suit

WHAT HAPPENS?
Dive all winter and stay warm! Often (particularly in Sydney ) we get the best diving conditions and visibility in the winter months when the water temperature is cooler. However with PADI Dry Suit diver training the cooler temperatures are no longer a problem.

A dry suit is an exposure suit that protects you from any contact with the water – so you come out as warm as you went in! Many people find that once they've used a dry suit they never look back as you are warm and comfortable throughout your dives regardless of water temperature, weather or any wind chill on your surface interval.

WHATS INVOLVED?

  • Knowledge development including quizzes and knowledge reviews where you learn the theory, procedures and techniques involved with diving in a dry suit.
  • A confined water training session to introduce you to buoyancy control in a dry suit, swimming, ascent and descent techniques (this is only for divers who have never used a dry suit)
  • 2 open water dry suit dives.

HOW MUCH AND WHAT IS INCLUDED?
The course price is $345 and includes:

  • 2 days tuition and certification.
  • PADI dry suit diver training pack and video.
  • Equipment hire for the duration of the course.
  • Confined water training session
  • 2 open water dives.
  • PADI certification.

HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED AND WHEN DO I START?
The PADI dry suit diver course is a 2 day course and can be conducted over 1 weekend or 2 days in the week. You will be with us from 9am until around 5pm on both days. We will spend time on knowledge development at the Dive Centre in the morning and then travel to one of our local dive sites to complete the dry suit dives. Please see the calendar for starting dates.

WHERE DO WE GO?
The knowledge development portion of the course is conducted at the Dive Centre. The dive sites that we use for the open water dives are dependent on weather and sea conditions, although we generally use dive sites at North Bondi, Clovelly Pool, Bare Island (La Perouse) or Gordon's Bay. All the dives are shore dives and a description of each site can be found at our diving in Sydney page.
