With lots of work on buoyancy/trim and team awareness – the guys now feel confident to go out and independently explore some more challenging dive environments. Well done boys!!

We look forward to seeing you soon on the Rescue course, trip to Jervis Bay and/or the Nitrox course.

On Friday the 23rdApril,  11 excited divers hit the road to drive down to Montague Island in Narooma for 3days worth of diving with the seals. Everyone was up early the following morning getting gear together ready for an 8am departure on our boat “DALLAS”.  Our skipper martin told us stories about the seals on the way out which made everyone even more keen to get into the water. As we pulled up to the island the view was amazing.. 300 or more seals were on the rocks or playing in the water!! We geared up very quickly and jumped in to begin our dive. I think everyone would agree with me that diving amongst seals is absolutely awesome.. they were go graceful and fast underwater, doing twists and turns and checking out all the divers! The more we all did spins the more excited the seals became!! We had another 5 dives with the seals after that dive, each dive was different as we would begin our dive with the seals then go off to explore other sections of the island and then come back to the seals for our safety stops. Other marine life that was spotted included a very friendly bull ray, eels, cuttle fish AND a grey nurse shark!!!! :D Many diving stories were shared over a BBQ on the Saturday night and I think a great weekend was had by all.. :D
