On the Saturday the 26th Natalie, Sean and Michael began their Enriched air Nitrox course aboard “Scubaroo”. The conditions were perfect: flat sunny and great visibility. All three divers were able to experience the great advantages of using nitrox one of them being that their bottom times were extended by more than 20minutes :). After completing two dives on the day, they obtained their Enriched air certifications, WELL DONE guys!!! Keep up the great work!

Cheers from Ebbony and all the team at DCB

Congratulations to Jonathan Kuleff, Laura Aurisch, Simon Reys, Carl Thomas, Madeleine Ellicott, Marc De Ferranti, Annick Boismenu and Ines Fernandez Rousselot on gaining your Open water Certification. Mother nature threw everything at us this weekend, bar a cyclone, but we are lucky to have some protected dive site available to us so you were all able to become the newest members of the underwater world!

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular entry level diving certification. It qualifies you to dive independently to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet). PADI is the world’s largest diving training agency, and your Open Water certification will be recognized throughout the world.

All the best from David & Team DCB

On Saturday the 29th May, 7 advanced open water divers entered the water and on Sunday the 30th may 7 rescue divers emerged full of confidence and knowledge after a great weekend of training!! The students were pushed to their limits in all different types of situations, from missing unconscious divers and panicked buddies to gushing leg and head wounds (thanks to the great use of bbq sauce) and after two days obtained their rescue diver certifications… WELL DONE to Karren, Mark B, Mark W, Max, Michael, Jim and Matt, Preston and myself had a great time teaching you all and watching you make the transition from advanced divers to rescue divers, looking forward to seeing you all out and diving again soon…

best of luck with your continuing education…

Scuba Review 18th May

May 31st, 2010

scuba-review

Congratulations to Thomas who did a great job of completing a PADI Scuba Review last weekend. A man who is clearly made for the water, Thomas breezed through a bit of a touch on the 20 basic skills and then cruised around further exploring Manly’s Shelley Beach. We had good conditions and saw quiet a lot of aquatic life. Thomas is off to the Whitsunday’s soon with his girlfriend who also completed her PADI Openwater course on the same weekend. Congratulations to you both! We hope you have a fabulous trip and we look forward to seeing you in the water again soon.

All the best from Simon & Team DCB
