Gordons Bay
The Gordon’s Bay Scuba Diving Club is located between Clovelly and Coogee in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The Gordon’s Bay Scuba Diving Club was established in 1990 and our main activity is the care and maintenance of the Gordon’s Bay Underwater Nature Trail which we has been actively performing for over 15 years. This 500m long underwater trail winds its way around the bay past rocky reefs, sandflats and kelp forests. By following the trail scuba divers get a tour of some of the Bay’s outstanding flora and fauna.
The club dives once a month to maintain the trail, and is always keen to welcome experienced divers to join the club. Our club meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 6:45 pm at the Clovelly Hotel , and our club dives are held on the preceding Sunday at Gordons Bay at 9am. Additional dives are held subject to the need for additional maintenance and the availability of club divers.
If you would like to broaden your diving experiences, and contribute to the local diving community at the same time, join the club!
Since March 2005 the Gordon’s Bay Scuba Diving Club has been working on a proposal to obtain and scuttle a decommissioned navy ship at a suitable location off Sydney. The purpose of the proposal is to provide a recreational dive location, marine research facility, and artificial reef to provide marine habitat
